What You Say

Allison Laine, from Pittsburgh, PA

I found Lis Harvey in the CD store about six weeks ago and I bought it having never even heard of her. After listening to just the first song, I knew that I found my new favorite "comfort and personal" CD.

Thank you so much and continue to write amazing songs!!

I was stuck on Life is Fatal for an entire day and a half. LOL All I can say is, "Wow!" What an impressive CD. I'll admit, I have a thing for female folk singers with some soul, and dammit if Lis ain't that. Porcupine really shows Lis to have a fluid voice over a band. And the songs on Porcupine are just solid through and through. For sure, this is one of my favorite albums of 2004, easily making my top 3. Hec, it could make my all time top 10. And THAT would be impressive. :)

Be well, Lis Harvey, be well

Do you believe in love at first listen? I never would have. But something has made me play this stuff over and over again. I think it might be an addiction or something. Probably a sinister plan to get me to buy all Lis' music. Well, I think it's working. Help me! I've got to go hide!

It was sad to come to the last web page (although I haven't read the archives of the tour yet). It's great to someone so talented with such a good forum!

Peeps are not meant to be skewered over an open fire. The only proper way to eat a stale peep is in the microwave! Pop them in and turn on the radiation. When the peep starts to swell to 2 or 3 times its original size, shut down the power and pull out a hot gooey almost-as-good-as-roasted-marshmallows treat. It's not too late to grab up some bargain leftovers.

I laughed out loud at your tale of the Easter peeps, with their eyes melting in silent accusation. It brought to mind so many camping "oops!" along my way. The best(worst) I remember is the brilliant friend who bought a gallon of ice cream and stuck it into the cooler. "The next morning" brought howls of unbelief. I wonder why that friend never came camping again? Celebrate Life in Big Bites

Peeps were Jennie's favorites, but only
after they were made stale for weeks and weeks. You shouldn't have freezed
them. Just set them in a cupboard somewhere!

Dear Lis:
I just wanted to thank you for sharing your experience about Peeps and the campfire. My girlfriend and I came up with that very same idea earlier today, but now we know that it's not a good one. I think you've saved us from a lot of misery.

Yours,
Roxanne

Hi Lis,
Met you during your Spring 2003 world-record tour at Smithbridge Winery in Chadds Ford,
Pennsylvania (you complimented my husband and I on our picnic backpack--not that you
would remember that). Your CDs have been playing in my car ever since!
Just wanted to say "thanks" for the music and keep the journal notes coming,
I truly enjoy your spirit!

Lis has the folked out fun energy of Ani and Jewel in a blender poured over the transparency of half melted ice cubes on a crisp spring afternoon that just makes you want to wallow in the serendipitous grass, and bask in the glory of the southern hospitality sun. Lis is a wonderful poet. She gives good page! Thank you for being the free spirit that you are.

Heard you on cartalk -- what a riot those guys are! good luck with the toyota and i hope your friend hear the show.

on the bright side, the way i see it, the less oil you can buy the better so this synthetic stuff may be the ticket out of the horrible oil-drive war we seem likely to get into soon!

take care and have a great tour. hope to hear you live sometime.

Hey y'all, if you haven't heard Lis's music..you have got to get out and hear it! It is awesome! She came to the Young Women's Leadership Conference back in October--and she was amazing!! All the girls loved her, she didn't just sing, she talked to us about her childhood experiences, and Easy-Bake Ovens!! Another must for the household.. =)

I think Lis is a sexy bitch. The way she feels about her music embodies the way I feel about drinking and dancing naked on my coffee table every night. It's an urge, a necessity, and even an obsession. Lis is going to kick ass on her 50-state Tour (capital "T") and she is going to buy me a Hooter's T-shirt from a store in every state. Then she is going to give me the 50-state commemorative quarter set, once they are all finished being minted. And, by age thirty, if she is not married, she said she would marry me.
